Oh hello. Personally, I’m both tired and wired. But alas, this Tired/Wired list is more of an attempt to stay focused on our work here at Fresh Eyes Digital, and a lighthearted take on the digital trends and nonprofit marketing strategies we’re watching in the digital space (and maybe just a leeetle bit of an attempt to quiet down the noise around the hellscape we’re in right now). Enjoy – and let us know what you think of the list and what you’d add!

Tired: Doomscrolling

Wired: Protecting your mental health

Tired: Meta/X

Wired: BlueSky

Tired: Open Rates meaning … literally anything

Wired: Response rate (it’s always in!)

Tired: Email after email asking you to chip in $3

Wired: Making your best gift to orgs fighting the good fight with focus and clarity.

Tired: Using the phrase now more than ever.

Wired: Making a specific and actionable case for why giving to YOUR organization NOW matters

Tired: Assuming Year-over-Year (YoY) donor file predictability.

Wired: Keeping an eye out for opportunities to engage your list and keep them warm for when it’s fundraising time

Tired: Daft Punk (Controversial!)

Wired: DAF’s (Donor Advised Funds)

Tired: Putting all of your digital fundraising eggs in one channel

Wired: Thinking of your entire multichannel ecosystem (email, SMS, social, website) as essential for your digital fundraising success

Tired: Thinking AI is just a phase

Wired: Learning about more tools to make AI work for you (and your direct response program!)

Tired:  Only focusing on fundraising asks when it comes to engaging your audience.

Wired: Sending campaign updates and thank you’s when appropriate!

Tired: Dense, copy heavy campaigns (sometimes!).

Wired: Concise punchy content that quickly communicates the purpose and ask!
