Fresh Eyes Digital is transitioning to a 4-day work week!
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve work-life balance and enhance productivity, we are excited to share that Fresh Eyes Digital will be transitioning to a 4-day workweek, Monday-Thursday, effective immediately. Our company deeply values both client and employee satisfaction. We strive to be both humane and human in our approach to work and to create a work environment that encourages employees to manage their professional responsibilities while maintaining their personal well-being. We think a 4-day work week, increasingly being adopted by businesses of all different sizes and structures, is a great way to put our values in action.
Our new schedule will be Monday through Thursday, with one member of our team being on call each Friday to facilitate any concerns or emergencies – especially during busy seasons such as end of year, election cycles and rapid response disasters or breaking news moments.
We have piloted this 4-day work week now for two years during the summer with great success. And we’ve piloted our “on call” structure for many more years over the end of year cycle. More than anything, we believe and have proven that we can both serve our clients and prioritize our employees well-being with this flexible schedule.
We’re so pleased we can offer this benefit to our amazing team. And they are pretty excited about it too!
“While I always love numbers and the brass tacks of fundraising, I know my best work often comes from those “shower moments” where an idea just clicks into place. I can say both with my “boss” and “strategist” hat on, that having more space to let creative ideas percolate is better for the Freshies AND our clients. I’m so excited to make this shift and see what we can envision together, with even fresher eyes!” – Rachel
“I’m so excited about us making the full-time shift to a four-day workweek. We know that everybody does their best work when they have time to rest and recharge, and having an extra day to do so continues to make a fundamental difference in my ability to do just that.” – Ilana
“I am amazed at how much more productive during my work hours I have become since switching to a four-day week. I am tackling (and finishing!) long-term projects that have been on my list for literal years. Having that extra day to just get the rest of my life organized has been significant in maintaining my focus and energy during the shortened work week. Plus, adding extra time with the family is awesome.” – Erin
“Having a four-day work week was life-changing in the summer and will continue to be now that we’re making the full-time shift — I could use that extra weekend time to catch up on mundane chores, scheduling health appointments, traveling for a weekend getaway, etc. — things that often felt like a valuable waste of time when you only had 48 hours of the weekend! It’s also nice knowing that during busy times of the year, like right now, I can flex my time and work a little on Fridays IF I am absolutely out of juice at any point during the week. But most importantly, I feel more rested and ready to take on good work for clients.” – Sara
“I am very excited about switching full-time to a four-day work week. We already had a wonderful sense of flexibility and trust with our work at Fresh Eyes, it’s one of the perks of being on such a close-knit team of people you care about! But opening it up in this way is pretty revolutionary as a recovering workaholic. I have always felt like I always needed just a little more weekend to both get my chores and responsibilities complete and also secure good rest – and now I get to live it.” – Thelma
