Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network (RAINN) is the largest anti-sexual violence organization in the United States. They operate the National Sexual Assault Hotline, provide survivor-centered support services, and work to improve public policy and educate the public on issues of sexual violence. During the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, RAINN experienced a surge in demand for their services—while also navigating evolving digital fundraising needs.

The Challenge
As sexual violence survivors faced heightened isolation and barriers to support during lockdown, RAINN’s Development and Communications teams needed to rapidly scale their digital presence and fundraising capabilities. They also faced a major tech hurdle: a fragmented, underperforming suite of online tools that made campaign execution difficult and limited long-term growth.
Our Approach
Fresh Eyes Digital partnered with RAINN to guide both strategic growth and digital systems transformation. Our support included:

- Program planning, budgeting, projections, and strategy across Development and Communications
- Multichannel campaign planning and creative concepting
- Online advertising strategy, design, and implementation
- Copywriting and creative direction
- Email marketing design and execution
- Reporting, A/B testing, and ongoing optimization
- Platform and tool evaluation, CRM strategy, and full system migration to a unified EveryAction instance
The Results
Together, we helped RAINN build a more effective, data-informed fundraising program while improving internal systems and supporter engagement. Key outcomes included:

- More than 40,000 new email subscribers, doubling RAINN’s list through a mix of paid acquisition and organic growth
- 123% overperformance on email fundraising goals during our final end-of-year campaign
- Consistently exceeded board fundraising targets for online giving during our engagement
- Led a successful CRM and digital tool migration, replacing a disjointed tech stack with a streamlined, scalable EveryAction setup
This partnership enabled RAINN to more effectively engage supporters, raise critical funds, and operate with greater efficiency during a time of crisis and transition.
